Maria Letizia Gorga
Actress and singer Letizia graduates in Italian Literature at the University La Sapienza in Rome (with an essay on "Gatta Cenerentola" by GBBasile NON SERVE ALL ESTERO) and at the International School of the Actor in ...(DOVE? directed by Alessandro Fersen. She continues her acting studies at Maestro Anatolj Vassiliev s Drama School In Moscow with whom she goes on working in Italy and Russia with a project on "A ciascuno il suo" by L. Pirandello.
She traines in voice and singing with G. De Amicis-Roca, G. Jurova, T. Carcavallo and S. Molik renowned international teachers.
She then workes on the interpretation and dissemination of poetry with directors such as Achille Millo, Elio Pecora, Edoardo Sanguineti, Corrado Calabrò, Maestro Fausto Razzi, Federica Altieri for the editorial Einaudi and at the Mediterranean festival directed by F. Bettini for Odin Teatret.
Charmed by their histories and always engaged by female artists Letizia focused her work on the life of french singer Dalida and south American Mercedes Sosa recording and producing two shows and co related dvds “Avec le temps, Dalida” and “Todo Cambia- an Intimate journey with Mercedes Sosa” distributed by CNImusic. The latter was also presented at the Quirinale palace in Italy in form of a concert.
She performed for the Macerata Opera Festival "Mediterranean, sound waves" in a "melologue" for voice and strings set to music and directed by Maestro Cinzia Pennesi and by Carla Magnan, Carla Rebora and Roberta Vacca.
She also recorded Peppe Barra's “La Cantata dei Pastori” and Renato Giordano's “Decamerone”, both with original music by Lino Cannavacciuolo and on "Satyricon" where she sings the songs of Mario Rivera and Gabriele Coen.
She then takes part is in the musical "Musicanti" a show on the life of Neapolitan artist Pino Daniele, of which a CD has been produced.
Her long staging carrer sees her being directed by several exponential figures such as : Vassiliev, De Simone, Albertazzi, Scaparro, Barra, Micol, Ammendola, Sepe, Russo, Pesce, Giordano, Pedroni, Giorgetti, La Manna, Gazzara, Tamburi, Prosperi, Belli, Piccoli, Lombardo Radice, Pera Tantina de La Fura dels Baus, Oliviero, and others and has collaborated with great musicians such as Nicola Piovani, Ezio Bosso, Germano Mazzocchetti.
In cinema and television she is directed by Ammendola and Pistoia, Laudadio, Balducci, Izzo, Odorisio, Terracciano, Ponzi, Rocco, Parisi, Graffeo and Manni, Pingitore, Colabona, Mercalli, Inturri, Sorrentino amongst others.
Letizia appears in the soundtrack of Paolo Sorrentino s movie "Youth" with her interpretation of Dalida s song "A ma maniere".
In 1995 she is awarded as Best Leading actress at the Fondi festival for the show "Controfigura" and in 2019 is awarded with the “Premio Internazionale EUROPA e CULTURA del NUOVO".
Letizia has combined her acting carrer with being a teacher of diction, voice education and performing arts at prestigious academies and universities In Italy. In 2020 she has released a manual for diction "Voce Aperta" that explores the universe of the spoken voice.
